Mike Jackson
Percussion Arranger
Mike Jackson has been the percussion arranger/instructor for the WGI World Class Medalist (1999-2001 & 2004) Mission Viejo High School since 1989 and the percussion arranger/instructor for the WGI A Class Medalist (1997, 2000,
2004 & 2005) Loara High School since 1994. From 2002 to 2003, Mike served as the percussion arranger/instructor for the Black Knights Drum Corps, which led them to their first WGI Independent World Class medal. Currently, he is a design consultant for the WGI Independent World Champions, Riverside Community College.He has been serving on the WGI Percussion Advisory Board since 1997 as well as being a current Steering Committee member. He is a founding member of the Southern California Percussion Alliance and currently serves on their Board of Directors.
Other credits include WBA high percussion titles for 1997-1999, 2001-2004, SCPA World Class gold medals 2001-2005, and percussion caption head for the Velvet Knights Drum & Bugle Corps, 1996-1997.
Mike has been a member of the Vic Firth Education Team since 2001 and proudly uses VF mallets/drumsticks, Premier drums, Evans drumheads and Zildjian cymbals.
