Man Of The Minute

Contrary to how Chris Nalls and I started "Circe's Curse", West Bloomfield H.S. Director Of Bands Arthur Ebert knew he wanted to do an original concert band commission, but didn't have a specific theme in mind. After working together on the original marching band show "Alone... In The Crowd!" (now titled "The Road Not Taken") for his marching band, Arthur decided to give me his desired instrumentation, some soloist thoughts, strong sections and let me run on my own.

The name "Man Of The Minute" came to me about half way through the piece as I was writing what I was living at the time. It seemed my days consisted of wearing many hats (in varying colors and styles) and the music was taking on that kind of tone. While that could have been a bad thing, it wasn't! The piece had a very cohesive flow to it and allowed for many different "colors and styles" to fit into this 4 minute 30 second piece of music.
